Loss Control services

HWCF’s Loss Control Consultant (LCC) will focus on areas that will assist you in implementing programs to help control your loss exposure and achieve a safer and more secure workplace. Reducing the frequency of workers’ compensation injuries and the severity of any injury is accomplished through various means such as on-site evaluations of safety risks, in-service classes, and specific issues assistance.

A professional survey of safety exposures is available to all members upon request. The survey is an on-site, non-punitive, multi-faceted survey that may be used as a tool to identify potential problems as well as areas for improvement in an existing program. A written report with our observations and suggestions is submitted within ten working days.

The Loss Control Consultant available to members of HWCF is an OSHA General Industry Outreach Trainer. As such, the LCC is authorized as an instructor to teach the 10 and 30 hour General Industry outreach training in accordance with the guidelines provided by the OSHA Office of Training and Education.

Additionally, the Loss Control Consultant acts as a resource for our members, as well as a liaison between the members and governmental or regulatory agencies such as JCAHO, OSHA, EPA, etc. If a member has questions about specific issues that affect the safety and security of their facility or office, they may contact the LCC for assistance in issue resolution. Generally, this would include research into policy development or regulatory compliance.

As a member of HWCF, you may also receive statistical analyses of your workers’ compensation claims. Recommendations for loss prevention or control are offered based on your loss history and trends identified. If we can be of service please contact us.
